On 26 february 2005 the new Center for Chinese Healing Arts with the name long fei feng wu opened its doors at Smidshornerweg 20 in Niekerk, province Groningen NL. I t was a beautiful day, that started with a traditional Lion dance and demonstrations of Wushu, Taiji and Qigong.

The meaning of long fei feng wu is "Flying Dragon and Dancing Phoenix". This chinese expression means that things are done in a beautiful and artful way. Originally we find this expression in the art of Calligraphy. Dragon and Phoenix also stand for "Water" and "Fire", which are synonyms for Yin and Yang, the two basic powers of chinese philosophy that are responsible for movement and therefore for Life. By flying and dancing together they create the movement that brings life energy (Qi). This life energy is all around us and also flows through all the energy pathways of our body.

In agreement with name and logo Bernhard Nessensohn and Janet Holtkamp, are aiming at guiding people to come back to their original energy and state of being. Out of that an inner balance can develop and therefore health can be restored. The methods they are using have their origins in oriental and western philosophy and healthcare.

Janet worked over 15 years as an acupuncturist in the west of the Netherlands. Next to the acupuncture education she did a profound education in energy work at the CICO in Utrecht. This resulted in the aura-reading education. Acupuncture, combined with energy-work, is a beautiful way of practicing oriental medicine and in the same time giving insight in the background of disease. Next to those skills she works with lymfdrainage, which is a combination of intense massage and energy-work. This she learned in Mexico from her Swedish-Shamanic teacher, Mats Aquila.

Since three years she teaches acupuncture at the Anglo Dutch Institute for Oriental Medicine in the Netherlands and together with Bernhard she gives courses in their home in Niekerk, Province Groningen and in Switzerland.

Bernhard originally comes from Switzerland, where, after some years of working as a teacher, he did his studies for Naturopath, Acupuncture and Qigong-teacher. Together with a pediatric doctor he worked in a group clinic in Wetzikon where he treated a lot of children. Next to 12 years of working as an acupuncturist in Switzerland he teaches at the Academy of Chinese Healing Arts,where he is part of the teachers team with his own courses.

Here in Niekerk, Groningen he is working together with Janet in their clinic and is giving courses in Taiji and Qigong. His Taiji education he received from Shifu Zhu ShaoFan and Shifu Fei YuLiang in Switzerland and in the Netherlands. The Quiet Qigong he studied with Grandmaster Li ZhiChang in Switzerland.
